About

Queers of the World

Queers of the world is a video archive with short documentaries about lgbtqia+ people from all over the world.

In June 2020, Oliver Jähnke (he/him) started this project by walking to a Lesbian neighbour to film her in her home. Oliver’s legs were unsteady, he was nervous to say something stupid, to step on someones toes. But it went alright. He made a video and published it on YouTube and people watched it. Oliver continued and has now made over 200 videos about lgbtqia+ people from 50 different countries. He’s taken his camera on trips trough Europe, the Caucasus, to South East Asia and to Northern Africa.

“Making these videos has meant so much to me. I’ve met so many incredible people who’ve generously shared stories from their lives. I am so much richer today, thanks to these meetings” - Oliver Jähnke
